Superbly located in the heart of downtown Toronto and close to the city's top attractions, Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel is a perfect destination for both work and play. Their guest rooms were recently refreshed and the hotel includes 4-star amenities like an on-site spa, several restaurants, a full fitness center and a state-of-the-art indoor-outdoor pool. The best of downtown Toronto is at your fingertips - the Sheraton is conveniently connected to both the financial and entertainment districts by way of the PATH, a 16 mile underground network of shops and services.

An AODA compliant hotel, the Sheraton Centre Toronto, has a commitment to give people with disabilities the same opportunities as other guests, in the way they access and benefit from their products and services. They strive to provide services in a way that respects their guests dignity and independence. They maintain a multi-year accessibility plan, which is reviewed and updated at least once every five years to show the organization’s commitment to removing barriers.

4-green-key-hotel-rating

Sheraton Centre Toronto received a 4 (out of 5) Green Key Rating based on the Corporate Environmental Management section of the Green Key Audit. The Green Key Audit was designed by the Canadian Hotel Association to evaluate facilities' policies and procedures as they relate to sustainable hotel operations. This includes any action plans that have been developed and their impact on management, employees, guests, and local community.

The hotel also received the Project ICARUS Supplier Gold Medal from the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA) in 2016. The Project ICARUS Sustainability Program was created to recognize travel and meeting industry professionals travel buyers and suppliers who are:

  • Committed to making sustainability a core function within their business travel and meetings program or supply chain proposition and / or
  • Leading the way by commitment and actions to procure or provide best in class sustainability programs for their company, travelers and customers

Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel is also happy to announce its partnership with Clean the World. Through this partnership they recycle bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion and bath gel to create new amenity products. This initiative saves lives by donating bar soap to third world countries and domestic homeless shelters. This fits nicely with SCMS' own Soap Drive initiative. We look forward to working with the Sheraton Centre Toronto this year.

When calling the nationwide reservations call center for many hotel chains, they do not have the ability to "block" wheelchair accessible rooms with individual hotel properties. We recommended to call the hotel directly, and speak to the front desk to properly reserve and block your accessible guestroom.

If you require accessibility assistance to book your housing or if you have an problems/issues, please email hotel@scmsconference.com.

CHILDCARE

We have continued the effort to organize child care options at the 2018 SCMS Conference. Tourism Toronto has suggested three options for childcare and babysitting:

     • Babysitting Angels Childcare Services, 1.888.983.0123, info@babysittingangels.com, http://www.babysittingangels.com/coreservices
     • Christopher Robin Services, 416.483.4744
     • Imagine That Family Care, 416.243.3285, http://www.imaginethatcare.ca/hotel-listing/

Information, including contact numbers, rates, and rules, are available on their websites.

In addition, we have set up a forum for parents who may wish to join forces when booking sitters, or swap childcare amongst themselves, or discuss good child-friendly options (parks, restaurants, etc.) in Chicago. The forum can be found here (you must be signed in to access the forum).

We hope that these options will help parents have a productive and enjoyable conference in Toronto.

Unfortunately the conference is not able to provide formal child care services at the meeting.

Disclaimer: SCMS and the Hilton Atlanta assume no responsibility with respect to these services and accepts no liabilities related to the services provided.
