Biography: Nick Davis is Associate Professor of English and Gender & Sexuality Studies at Northwestern University, where he has been on the faculty since 2006. He earned his PhD from Cornell University in 2005 and previously taught at Trinity College in Hartford, CT, and Wells College in Aurora, NY. His book The Desiring-Image theorizes a new model of contemporary queer cinema based on formal principles rather than identity politics, and drawing heavily on Deleuzian philosophies of film, sexuality, collectivity, and production.
