The 2013 SCMS elections are now over, and, on behalf of the Board of Directors, I am writing with the results.
I am pleased to announce that Steven Cohan (Syracuse University) has been elected President-Elect. He will serve in that capacity for two years (beginning July 1) before becoming President for another two-year term, then Past President for a final two-year term.
Neepa Majumdar (University of Pittsburgh) and Kara Keeling (University of Southern California) have been elected to three-year terms on the SCMS Board of Directors.
Lindsay Giggey (UCLA) has been elected the Graduate Student Representative to the Board.
Please join the Board in thanking Maria Pramaggiore, Cynthia Lucia, Beretta Smith-Shomade, and Michele Meed for their willingness to stand for office and their ongoing service and commitment to the Society.
The Board would also like to thank members of the Nominating Committee for their hard work in putting together this excellent slate of candidates: Victoria Johnson, Gilberto Blasini, Krin Gabbard, Diane Negra, Paula Massood, Eric Schaefer, and Brenda Weber.
Lastly, thanks to everyone who took the time to cast a ballot in this year's election.
