Biography
Elizabeth Ellcessor is an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the department of Media Studies at the University of Virginia, where she is also Director of the Disability Studies Initiative. Her research
focuses on disability, emergency, and the differential effects of access to media and technological systems. She has also published historical analyses and work related to celebrity outreach and activism. Prior to her position
at the University of Virginia, she served on the faculty of the Media School at Indiana University.
