Scholarly Interest Groups (SIGs) are groups comprised of SCMS members who share an interest in a particular medium, a genre, a methodology, the media of a particular nation or region, or any other subcategory within the rubric of cinema and media studies.
SIGs are formed and maintained to provide fellowship and networking opportunities for their members, and to support scholarship, pedagogy, and mentoring in that particular area within SCMS.
For general information or information specific to organizing a new Scholarly Interest Group, SCMS members can reference the SCMS bylaws and policies relevant to SIGs or contact the
SIG liaison Maria Suzanne Boyd.

Report Election Results
It is important for each caucus, SIG, and coordinating committee to notify the SCMS Office regarding election results. This allows theo ffice to have an accurate record of all elected individuals for your caucus, SIG, or committee. Please complete the
election results form after your election to ensure all records and the website is up to date. Please submit one form per person.

The function of the Scholarly Interest Group Coordinating Committee is to represent and communicate the respective and collective interests of the SCMS Scholarly Interest Groups (SIGs) to the SCMS Board of Directors and to facilitate
collaborative communication between and amongst the SIGs for the purpose of organizing (cross-)SIG events for the annual SCMS conference as well as other activities and events. The co-chairs of the SIG Coordinating Committee are current co-chairs
of one of the scholarly interest groups; they are elected by SIG members and serve staggered three-year terms.
