The 2015 SCMS elections are now over, and, on behalf of the Board of Directors, I am writing with the results.
I am pleased to announce that Pamela Robertson Wojcik (University of Notre Dame) has been elected President-Elect. She will serve in that capacity for two years (beginning July 1) before becoming President for another two-year term, then Past President for a final two-year term.
Victoria E. Johnson (University of California Irvine) will begin a three-year term as Secretary (replacing yours truly).
Nick Davis (Northwestern University) and Linda Mizejewski (Ohio State University) have been elected to three-year terms on the SCMS Board of Directors.
Juan Llamas-Rodriguez (University of California Santa Barbara) has been elected as the Graduate Student Representative to the Board for a two-year term.
Also, as part of the election, the Proposed Bylaw Change revising the procedures by which members may nominate SCMS officers and board members was approved.
Please join the Board in thanking Timothy Corrigan, Marsha Gordon, Elana Levine, Susanne Leonard, Hunter Vaughan, Katy Peplin, and Victoria Walden for their willingness to stand for office and their ongoing service and commitment to the Society for Cinema and Media Studies.
The Board would also like to thank members of the SCMS Nominating Committee for their hard work in developing this excellent slate of candidates: Eric Schaefer (Chair), Hollis Griffin, Erik Hedling, Bambi Haggins, Paula Massood, Jason Middleton, and Diane Negra.
Lastly, thanks to all SCMS members who took the time to cast their ballot in this year's election. As always, the leadership of SCMS depends upon your support.
