Mission Statement

At the charge of the Board, the Fieldnotes committee conducts, circulates, and archives interviews with pioneers of film and media studies. In addition to recognizing the contributions of key scholars, Fieldnotes also aims to foster knowledge of and interest in the diverse and dynamic developments that have shaped—and continue to shape—our expanding field. Fieldnotes is sponsored by SCMS and is archived through the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
