Mission Statement

At the charge of the Board, the Translation/Publication Committee coordinates an annual Call for Translations seeking proposals for publication of translated works in JCMS: Journal of Cinema and Media Studies, and works with the selected translators to deliver a completed manuscript to the JCMS editors according to a set calendar. The committee was first established in 1988 to identify works that had not been published in English, especially works that might not otherwise be undertaken by publishers, and explore publication opportunities for these works.
